Billing & Refunds

How the €10 monthly plan, Stripe payments, optional €10–€50 credits, cancellation, expiry, withdrawal, and refunds work.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

1. Pro subscription

Lauyer Pro costs €10 per month unless a checkout clearly displays a different promotional or replacement price. The subscription includes the usage allowance and features shown before purchase. No charge is made before you expressly confirm the purchase.

Pro renews automatically every month using the payment method on file until canceled. The checkout shows the charge, currency, applicable taxes, billing interval, and renewal terms before you confirm payment.

2. Stripe and payment information

Stripe processes checkout, payment methods, recurring charges, payment authentication, fraud screening, invoices, refunds, and payment disputes. Stripe may offer Link or local payment methods under its own terms.

Lauyer does not store full card numbers or card security codes. You authorize Lauyer and Stripe to charge the selected payment method for the subscription, credits, taxes, and other amounts clearly accepted at checkout.

3. Included usage and purchased credits

The monthly plan includes the allowance shown at checkout or in the account. Usage can differ by tool because source retrieval, infrastructure, and AI summaries have different costs.

Optional credits are one-time purchases in whole-euro amounts from €10 to €50. Each euro grants 100 request units and 4 AI-summary units. Credits are added after Stripe confirms payment and are consumed according to the usage units shown in the Service, with the oldest purchased credits used first unless the interface states otherwise.

4. Credit characteristics and expiry

  • Purchased credits expire 12 months after their purchase date.
  • Credits are personal to one account, non-transferable, and cannot be sold, gifted, pooled, or moved between accounts.
  • Credits are not money, electronic money, a deposit, stored value, property, or an investment and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • Promotional credits can have shorter expiry or additional conditions shown when issued.
  • Closing an account does not extend credit expiry or create a cash-redemption right.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel Pro through the Stripe billing portal or other cancellation control provided in the account. You can also contact privacy@lauyer.org if the control is unavailable.

Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. You retain paid access until then unless a refund ends access earlier. Canceling Pro does not automatically delete the account or refund unused time or credits.

6. EU and EEA withdrawal rights

If you are an EU or EEA consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. The checkout and confirmation will provide information required by applicable law.

If you expressly request that a subscription service begin during the withdrawal period, you may owe a proportionate amount for service supplied before withdrawal. For digital content or credits supplied immediately, the withdrawal right may be lost only where the law permits and after the required express consent and acknowledgement. Lauyer will not rely on such a loss unless the checkout captures the legally required request, consent, and acknowledgement. Mandatory law prevails over this Policy.

7. Refunds

We provide refunds where required by consumer law and may provide them for duplicate charges, unauthorized charges after reasonable verification, or a material billing or service error. Contact privacy@lauyer.org promptly with the account email, charge date, amount, and reason.

Except where law requires otherwise, subscription periods already started, used credits, expired credits, partial months, non-use, forgotten cancellation, and dissatisfaction after substantial use are non-refundable. Unused credits remain subject to applicable withdrawal rights and the 12-month expiry rule.

Approved refunds are returned through Stripe to the original payment method where possible. Bank and payment-network processing time is outside Lauyer’s control.

If Lauyer permanently discontinues paid functionality, or terminates an account without user breach, we will provide the legally required refund or a fair refund of unused, unexpired purchased credits. Promotional credits and credits already consumed are excluded unless law requires otherwise.

8. Failed payments and suspension

If a renewal fails, Stripe may retry the payment and ask you to update the payment method. Lauyer may suspend paid features after a failed payment while preserving reasonable access to account and cancellation controls.

We may correct an obvious pricing or crediting error. We will not retroactively increase an accepted charge without authorization, but may cancel or refund a transaction affected by a clear technical or pricing mistake where law permits.

9. Price and plan changes

We may change future subscription prices, included usage, credit pricing, or plan features. Material changes affecting renewal will receive advance notice and apply no earlier than a future billing period, subject to applicable law.

If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective renewal constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

10. Taxes, invoices, and business purchases

Prices may include or exclude VAT or other taxes as clearly shown at checkout. You are responsible for accurate billing and tax information. Stripe or Lauyer may issue receipts or invoices electronically.

If purchasing for an organization, you confirm authority to use its payment method and bind it to the purchase. Business customers remain responsible for accounting, reimbursement, purchasing, and tax obligations.

11. Disputes and contact

Contact privacy@lauyer.org before initiating a payment dispute so we can investigate. This does not limit mandatory chargeback, consumer, or court rights. Fraudulent or abusive disputes may result in account restriction.
